Ethiopia, the land of rugged beauty and rich cultural heritage that birthed coffee, is the world’s fifth largest producer and biggest in Africa. From Guji to Limu, Yirgacheffe to Sidamo, Ethiopia, with rich volcanic soils and perfect growing conditions, is home to thousands of different varietals resulting in the most delicious and varied of flavour profiles.
Cultivated across Southern Ethiopia, the majority of coffee is grown in Oromia and the area formerly known as the SNNPR (Southern Nations, Nationalities & Peoples Region).
Oromia, the largest region with a population of 41 million people, covering 284,538 km2, houses many of Ethiopia’s most famous coffee growing areas:

The SNNPR, recently split into four separate regions, with the creation of the Sidama Region, Southwest Ethiopia Region, South Ethiopia Regional State and Central Ethiopia Regional State, covers an area of 105,887 km2 and is home to 21 million Ethiopians. Coffee growing areas in the region include:
